I have been keeping very busy since the year began. I can’t believe January is almost over! I had the opportunity to partake in Dine LA week which was nice. I met up with my good friend Louise and we went to our usual, Dal Rae, enjoyed their famous pepper steak and sea bass. I also went out with my friend Patty and enjoyed Gwen. Sadly we didn’t see Curtis Stone, but we still enjoyed dinner! I’m the middle of fun eating, I also signed up to take an Audit class and tennis lessons. I am a volunteer at the library to teach adults how to read, and I’m also part of the Citizen’s Police Academy in my town. I am also having a lot of exploratory conversations with finance recruiters, hoping to find a great position in a stellar company. Back to food.... over the course of my relationship with Chris, he enjoyed collecting Tannat from Tablas Creek Winery. He always talked about having a vertical tasting dinner with all our friends. Sadly we never got around to it, but I decided to invite close friends and “open” these bottles with the Coravin. It was a wonderful dinner sharing great food and stories from the past. I’m grateful to have such wonderful friends to share such a great evening and fun memories of Chris.

I hope everyone had a fun and festive New Year’s celebration. I had two of my good friends come over for dinner where I made a rack of lamb dinner New Year’s eve. I also made Boston Cream Pie. I don’t think anyone I know has tasted this (when I made it in the past) because Chris would rarely share this dessert. This was his absolute favorite and he would finish this entirely in his own. I loved his gusto for this dessert! So I made this and was able to share with my friends last night for dinner, and today with my immediate family. I’m glad I am able to share it now :-) I know Chris would be okay with it :-) |
